Ex Stack Overflow EMEA/APAC Country Manager
One of my first real interviews was for a High School teaching job. It was down to me and 1 other candidate and the task was to teach a group of 13 year olds how to safely (we'll come back to that) use a craft knife. I was second up, so waiting my turn when the doors fly open and out rushes the other candidates (kids screaming in the background) with blood pouring out of his finger. I'm then ushered into a class of kids that look close to fainting to 'teach them how to use craft knives safely.' I didn't cut myself and the kids kept all of their fingers too so I got the job :)
As I walked into reception I called the interviewer by the wrong name and thought that was me done before making it into the interview room, luckily made it through after apologising several hundred times.
